Enhancing Research Rigor and Impact: Methods, Ethics, and Opportunities


On the morning of June 11, 2025, Room 201 – Block G, 120 Hoang Minh Thao Street, was abuzz with academic energy as the SouthStar Management Institute (SMi) – Duy Tan University hosted an international seminar titled:
“Enhancing Research Rigor and Impact: Methods, Ethics, and Opportunities.”

 

The seminar was chaired by Dr. Nguyen Le Giang Thien, Vice Dean of SMi, and welcomed a vibrant gathering of faculty members and lecturers. The event aimed to foster academic excellence and international collaboration in research.

 

The keynote speaker was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norizah Mohd Mustamil from the University of Malaya (Malaysia) – one of Asia’s leading universities. Dr. Norizah is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Accountancy, with expertise in organizational management, business ethics, sustainability, and management education. She has published extensively in prestigious ISI/Scopus journals and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for various international academic boards.

 

During her presentation, Dr. Norizah provided practical insights and strategic guidance on selecting impactful research topics, designing robust methodologies, mastering academic writing techniques, navigating the publication process, and responding effectively to peer reviews. Her talk not only offered valuable tools for academic success but also inspired attendees to pursue international research opportunities.

 

The seminar also sparked dynamic discussions on future international collaboration. Two key areas of focus emerged:

  • Student exchange programs between the two universities
  • Joint research initiatives between faculty members

 

The event concluded in a lively and professional atmosphere, marking a significant milestone in SMi’s journey toward enhancing research quality and global academic integration.
